I’m having trouble collecting enough blood for the test, what can I do?
Here are a few tips for success:
- Drink a glass of water about 30 minutes prior to testing
- Bunch up the pad of your finger before lancing to reduce the elasticity of the skin. Your finger should turn red.
- Try pricking the tip of your finger instead of the side. This lets you use gravity to your advantage.
- It can help to turn the lancet perpendicular to your fingerprint lines for deeper penetration
- About 4 ladybug-sized drops of blood per square should do the trick
If you aren't able to get enough this time, please ship the sample back, and if the lab determines the quantity of blood is insufficient, we'll send you a free replacement kit.
