What is Athlete Mode?
Athlete Mode is tailored to benefit individuals with high muscle density, specifically bodybuilders and powerlifters by adjusting their body composition measurements for greater precision.
This mode takes into account the higher muscle mass and potentially lower body fat percentage.
For male athletes, body fat percentages under 18% and for female athletes under 24% are common.
We do not recommend the use of Athlete Mode for the general population. Our algorithm is specifically optimized for the general population aiming to maintain their fitness levels or for those seeking to improve their health through weight loss or gain.
If you actively participate in competitive sports, whether as a professional athlete or within organized sports leagues, athlete mode can provide a more accurate body composition analysis. Competitive sports often involve rigorous training and can lead to distinct body composition profiles that athlete mode can better account for.
If you've previously undergone a DEXA scan and think that Spren may be overestimating your body fat percentage, considering athlete mode could be beneficial. Athlete mode considers the higher muscle and bone density often observed in bodybuilders and powerlifters, resulting in more precise measurements for individuals with athletic body composition.
It's important to note that these guidelines are not definitive, and individual variations exist. Consider your specific circumstances, including any previous body composition assessments, and make an informed decision based on your understanding of your body and level of physical activity
